So I had gotten these in 39 before but they were abit tight. Decide to try them in them again but in 40, mainly because i wear thick socks for my cold feet. I have the walnut brown and needed a black pair. I am in love with the matt black but wish the sole was black too. Would go lovely with outfits that require just black shoes. Hence my purchase for the smooth black. The day the arrived, I wore them straight out of the box because I already have the walnut brown so I knew the would be comfortable. Can't stop raving about these boots. The width is one of the main reasons they are my favorite because my toes are happy. I can feel them working the way they should. Not cramped up and squished together and barely able to move. Some days I wear my thin toe socks with them when the weather is mild and the wool lining does a good job of keep my feet warm.
I typically wear a men's size 9 US extra wide for boots, or 42 EU extra wide, mid to low volume ,(my arches like replacement soles for mid volume), and I have wide fanned metatarsal to toe bones. These barefoot boots feel wonderful and are probably the closest I'll ever feel to walking on snow or ice comfortably. I don’t typically compare across companies but these feel and look a lot like Lem's Chillums if they were made high tops with better materials, leather and wool lined, with a fanned toe box. I am so relieved that these fit and I can use my toes to walk or drive in them in winter. That says alot because the Chillum's are my go-to favorite shoe. I'm so excited for these boots!!!!
Awesome winter boots. I suzed up to EU 39 from my usual size 38, followed by the suggestion on the website. They fit me very well. And they are warm. I added wax to boots to make the boots waterproof.
Excellent pair of boots. Haven’t had cold or wet feet. Beautifully made. Sized up and they fit perfect.
I have been wearing these boots all winter in Ontario and they have been amazing. They’re comfortable enough to wear all day and practical enough to go for walks in the deep snow. I wear them with wool socks and my feet stay warm and dry—no cold toes. They also have enough traction that I can walk up steep snowy hills with comparative ease and don’t slip easily on the ice. On top of all this, they look nice enough to wear almost anywhere and don’t look odd with skirts and dresses. They are a little more time consuming get on and off than many boots, but the other amazing qualities of these boots make the extra minute I need to allow for getting out the door worth it.
