Bohempia is my favorite brand of barefoot shoe. I was so excited to get this shoe. Delivered 10/17 and began coming apart on 12/15 after light wear. The sole is separating from the suede and the suede is beginning to wrinkle on both shoes. So disappointing!!!
I bought these for the looks but am disappointed by the quality. They fit great after I changed the insole. The insole was very thick and cushy and made these shoes not feel like barefoot shoes. The vegan suede looks very cheap and instantly creased (see photo). The metal rings that enforce the holes that hold the shoe laces all got ripped from the shoe, and these shoes are not at all too tight. This happened on both shoes after wearing them for 2 weeks. Other than that I like the look and fit. But for that price I expected much better quality. I will not buy Bohemia shoes again
I got these shoes a couple weeks back and I’ve been loving them they go with everything, i recently went to Mexico for a week and wore them everyday and so far they haven’t given any trouble they’re comfortable even after walking around the city all day! Although I had some trouble with the sizing customer service was understanding and worked on my issue asap! Thank you so much, I’m loving the brand bohempia as a whole, I just bought the orik and herlik styles :)
Let's be honest, I bought these for the aesthetics which are 5/5. Great alternative to similar mainstream styles like the Adidas Sambas. Look like regular, slightly chunky sneakers. Comfortable enough, somewhat breathable. Tongue slides to the side, but that doesn't bother me that much.
SIZING/FIT was tricky - not that much volume above the toes. 25.5/9.5cm medium volume, mountain shaped feet. Tried size 39 and 40, kept the 39 after long deliberation. Slight toe poke on the 39s but doesn't really bother me now. The 40s were better toe-wise but they did snag as I walked, almost tripped. The bendy part at the toe joint was also a bit too far forward on the 40s, and spot on on the 39s. Also, the hemp material slides a lot; my foot slides around the shoe when it can; only the laces keep it in place.
CLEANING: Notoriously difficult to clean, almost impossible, even with some waterproofing. If you slightly damaged the texture on the suede, that's it. Make sure you waterproof these properly (with 3 layers) as soon as you've decided to keep them, don't wear them at all until that's done, you'll thank yourself later.
These shoes are definitely comfy. The width is fantastic and the soles are very flexible. The style is cute…from a distance. But on close inspection the materials and construction don’t match the price point. The stitching on the tongue isn’t straight. And as another reviewer noted, there is no tongue keeper, so the tongue doesn’t stay in place on the top of your foot. The “Italian Vegan Suede” looks like felt from a craft store and after a few hours of wear it bunches and crinkles oddly. I was hoping and expecting the quality and construction of these to be more similar to a barefoot vegan adidas Samba than a pair of trainers you could pick up at Target for under $40. I will keep them because they fit the style and foot-shaped features I was after, but I wouldn’t have purchased them if I had been able to see them in person first.
