These shoes are truly awful. I’m so sad I spent so much money on shoes I will never wear again with no way to return them.
I searched high and low for shoes to wear for my wedding a few weeks ago.
These are more casual than what I wanted. I know all my fellow brides have been through this same thing… it sucks that living a healthy life means we have to compromise on style sometimes - especially on one of the biggest days of our lives when we’re the center of attention all day long.
I wore them for ~6 hours, and my feet and calves hurt SO much the next day. I only wear barefoot/zero drop shoes and have never had that happen.
They gave me blisters on my pinky toes and made my big toe joint really sore because the strap that goes over the toe was unbelievably tight.
I did not like the toe cleavage - the strap should really be placed more toward the front of the shoe to avoid that look.
I have a pretty normal foot - I think the manufacturer of this particular shoe just got it all wrong because the fit was off in front of the toes (especially on my left foot which is the smaller one - way too much room) and there was too much extra strap on the outer sides (it bulged out and looked loose), but there was not enough strap to go over the toes or enough strap to comfortably buckle (even on the loosest hole as you can see in my photos - I also think the holes being visible on the top strap of the shoe is unsightly and not a polished look).
Something else I found odd was a skinnier than normal sole at the back (heel) of the shoe. Again, I have a normal foot, but the way-too-skinny soles made me feel like my heels look like they were spilling off the sides of the shoe. Definitely not something I wanted to have to worry about on my wedding day.
Also, the right shoe arrived curved downward (pictured). I tried straightening it out but to no avail.
Anya’s customer service was helpful during my purchasing process when I needed help selecting a size (I’m in the US), and they fit as “okay” as they could have I suppose. However, had the size been larger, there would have been even more room in front of my toes (there was already too much room and it made it look like I was wearing shoes two sizes too big - I worried that they looked floppy and actually almost tripped); had the size been smaller, the straps would have absolutely been too short to buckle (again, they were already so short I could barely buckle them).
Also, the straps are different colors - they are a shimmery white with the one crossing over the top being a matte cream.
I really wanted to return them, but I had no other options (I’m serious about having searched high and low), so I kept them.
I like the style and color of the sandal. It the only reason it’s not a 5 is because I wish there was an option for a slightly thicker sole. I love barefoot shoes but I need just a bit more cushion.
I have medium volume feet and they measure about 10" by 4". I bought size 39 and they fit well. I usually am a size 40. But I sized down because I know as these are leather, they will stretch over time. The rose gold is pretty, but the I'm not a fan of the white-ish strap. I wish it was more of a natural tan color. These are very comfortable for being a minimalist sandal but the only issue I had was the sticky insole! The description says it is made of leather but upon wearing these sandals for only a few hours, the insoles constantly stuck to my feet like sticky plastic. My feet aren't overly sweaty so I don't know why the sandals would be so sticky. It's probably what the leather is coated with that makes them feel sticky. Other than that, these are very comfortable. I wouldn't buy again, if only they changed the insole then I would repurchase because they're so comfy!
Cute and comfy but wearing for hours on end can hurt if you aren't used to barfefoot shoes they offer no support or cushion especially if your walking on harder surfaces very thin soles but strong and flexible...I love them but they take some getting used to. I'm usually a 10 and bought a 40 and they fit perfectly.
These are beautiful and I loved them! The straps were able to buckle around my thick “cankle” which was a big concern. However after wearing them several times the front strap has stretched and now my foot is drifting forward and at the edge of the sandal. Unfortunately I’m seeing them as a one season sandal which is too bad because initially I wanted them in other colors. Beautiful for the season
