The material and color were lovely, the toe box was perfrect, but the width/opening around the ankle is too narrow. I couldn't get the zipper more than halfway up. Sadly, returned.
I bought these during the winter clearance sale and just received them today. They are waaaay cuter in person than they are in the photos online and I’m so happy I got them. I’m right in between sizes 36 and 37 so I got the 37 and they have just enough room for an insole and thick socks. So far have only worn them inside but they seem very comfortable. I have an average width foot so for me they are perfect but for someone with wide feet these might be a little too snug.
Fits well, it's my size, seems well made
I like them alot
I've long wanted a pair of zero-drop, ankle-ish height boots in a warm, caramel color, and have/had been holding out until I found a pair that I knew would fit my foot (which is wider in the toe box, with a narrow heel, high arch and low volume rise). I settled last year for a pair of Vivo Barefoot knee-high boots in a darker brown leather -- still beautiful, but a bit tight around the calf, and not quite the shade I had my heart set on.
So, when the presale for these hit, I ordered without a second thought — and even with the added wait time through customs (Anya's team was incredibly kind and communicative during this time; 5 stars for that alone), it was worth it.
These boots are comfy, stylish, and go perfectly with everything I own — I've dressed them up with tights and a dress; I've worn them out with jeans and a sweater. I find they pair very well with my cushioned Smartwool socks, which slip inside just fine; for comparison, I need to wear a very thin sock or go completely barefoot in the Vivo boots, largely due to the narrow shaft). I'm a true 38, and these fit as such. The craftsmanship is excellent.
I do wish the hue was just a tad lighter/warmer — but again, this is negligible in the grand scheme of things. (I'm also quite particular, FWIW.)
Worth every penny — if ever available in gray, I'd scoop them up, too — and I'm glad to have another barefoot brand in my repertoire!
I've had my eye on this style since last Fall when I fell in love with the Groundies Hamburg oxford-style sneakers that I ordered via Amazon. So when I saw the Odessa offered here I decided to go for it. They are true to size - I ordered a 38 and they fit just as well as the 38 Hamburg does. This is a beautiful boot with a classic look, and great for those of us who actually like wearing boots with boot-cut jeans because the height is perfect for that. I will be looking for a slim insole to help add a bit of warmth for colder days, as they aren't quite as warm as boots with a thicker sole; but I consider that worth it to be able to now replace my toe-pinching split leather boots from pre-barefoot days.
