These boots fit great. I ordered size 40 narrow calf and I am typically size 40 in shoes that I will wear with socks so I would say these are true to size. I am not in agreement with another reviewer who said they are stiff; I found them very soft and comfortable. Unfortunately, I splurged on these hoping for a semi-dressy boot and they are definitely not that. I wish I had gotten the Peerko Empires, but I had read reviews on other sites that the soles of that boot tend to fail. These boots fit well in the calf, but at the ankle they are huge, so they end up looking slouchy. That, coupled with the dullness of the material (kind of liked suede but looks really worn down), they are just not at all a dressy boot. I'm so bummed because I really didn't need another non-dressy boot and wish I had followed my instincts as soon as I tried them on and just sent them back. If you're looking for a boot that's comfortable and casual, I say go for it, but if you want any kind of dressed-up look (which is nearly impossible to get in a barefoot shoe in the first place), these are definitely not the ones to spend your money on.
Right out of the box, these are my fit. Sized according to the guide with a slight worry that they will get smaller as my foot splays over time but for today they fit beautifully in a 38 and fit my chunky calf just so. Got the regular calf. I’m 24 and 9.4 cm quasi mountain slight slope and these fit comfortably with Injinji wool liners. My toes don’t touch the edge and have plenty of width. I think a 39 would have felt too long for me. Haven’t worn them out yet so can’t judge on wear but just want to review them out of the box because most barefoot shoe buys are a gamble. And this one paid off.
These are beautifully constructed and the leather is very high quality. Some sizing help: my feet are 24cm long and I ordered both a 38 and a 39. The 38 fit but are very snug, and the 39 are just perfect. I hope this helps with the sizing. They are also not knee-high, even if you are small. I am 5'0 and they fit 4 cm below my knees.
These fit like a glove - with one addition. I got the narrow calf because boots usually are too wide for me there, but this was super snug on the leg. I wore these for the first time for 5 hours at a renaissance faire and my feet felt so comfortable. They are definitely warm. It was a hot day and I knew they would be warm, but the lining made them extra hot. So I know they will be good in the colder months. I added the soles from one of my Hobibear sneakers for extra cushion because they were a bit more firm than I like. And adding the extra inserts made the higher ankle of this boot fit perfectly. These are going to be a new fall/spring staple of my wardrobe.
I was besotted with my new boots from the moment I laid eyes on them in the box, and to my great relief and delight, they fit perfectly. I have thick-ish calves, and they zipped all the way up over my leggings and socks! Never mind the fact that they're more appealing than a barefoot show has any right to be, actually sleek and stylish even by non-foot-shaped shoe standards! Though they cost more than I normally spend on a single pair of shoes, I don't regret springing for them as a combined December birthday-Christmas present to me :)
