I'm relatively new to barefoot shoes so I don't know how helpful my opinion is - but I found these to be very compressing on the top of my foot (by the toes) and that the soles seemed less thin and flexible than other barefoot boots.
It may have been better if I sized up (but they sadly didn't have any slightly larger sizes in stock, and I didn't pay for the returns coverage).
The leather felt very nice, almost a suede-like finish. And the thicker soles I imagine would hold up well over time and through weather conditions. So the quality is likely very worth the price. But, for now, this wasn't the fit or barefoot-ness I was hoping for.
It is difficult for me to find boots with room for my high instep, but the Shapen Cozy 2.0 Wool Zip-Up boots fit! They don't provide enough space for both my feet and the insoles I ordered. But for going from the house to the car and being at work, these are good. I work in an environment where doors are often open to the winter cold, and my feet stay warm. They are best for these short trips outside and indoor winter use - my feet don't stay warm if I spent time outside in the snow. I ordered a pair in black, and they're cute and comfortable.
I really wanted these to work for me. I have a high volume foot- and these were too tight across my fore foot just before the lacing. At this price point, I am not willing to try to stretch them for a higher volume, so sadly, will be returning them. Length was good, and the heel slippage other reviewers mentioned is there-but for me it was not a lot. I ordered size 39. My foot is 24.5cm long and 9.4cm wide. I'm not having much luck finding a boot that will fit my feet.
Very comfy and stylish. Wool lining keeps my feet warm. Light brown color is very cute. I get lots of compliments, and wear them with almost everything. I did spray with Scotchguard a couple of times and did not wear in snow.
I wear 6.5-7W and the 38 fits perfectly. Love the wool lining. Boot is soft and warm. Also really like having a zipper. No break in time needed although I laced the top loosely for now because of other reviews noting some discomfort there at first.
I used SnoSeal because I was worried about salt stains. This made the finish look more like regular leather than nubuck but that is fine with me—I think it looks nice that way too. Thank you for carrying this boot!
